Functional Neurological Disorder
Functional Neurological Disorder (FND) is a condition that has neurological symptoms, but these are not linked to a particular neurological disease. However, people will experience a range of neurological symptoms that occur due to how brain networks operate. So whilst the symptoms are real and can significantly impact daily life they are not caused by identifiable neurological diseases.
Since NeuroFeedback and other NeuroModulation approaches work on strengthening and improving brain networks, it is a disorder that can be treated and helped in this way.
NeuroFeedback also improves balance in brainwave activity. The approach that will be used is guided by an initial Central Nervous System Assessment, also by the symptoms that are being experienced by the individual. This can include seizures, sensory motor issues and sensory disturbances, with additional symptoms such as fatigue, pain and cognitive difficulties. FND can be debilitating.
Our treatment plan & Protocols takes all these factors into account. The frequency of sessions and duration is to be determined by the initial assessment results and our ongoing monitoring of progress.
